3D photogrammetry model of the wreck of the HTMS Sattakut wreck in Koh Tao

3D grammatography in a nutshell means taking photos from every inch and angle of the target wreck and then uploading the images to a software that overlaps the photos so that they form a detailed 3D model. The model can then still be studied way after the wreck it self has vanished from the seabed. This is the best and simplest way of preserving our wrecks for the future generations to come.

This ”test mapping” of HTMS Sattakut is a part of a bigger project here in Asia where we are set to survey deep sea US submarines from WW2 before they are lost forever due the bottom drawlers nets, detoriation or by the rising number of international looters.

Besides that this is an important task for our cultural heritage and science 3D photogrammetry model is easy to do and lots of fun at the same time!
